In the morning, 

when we wake up, 

there is sunlight. 

At night, 

when we go to bed, 

there may be moonlight, starlight, streetlights (街灯)...

Light is everywhere.

Light comes from things that are very hot, like the sun, a candle (蜡烛)...

Moon, books, rocks...

Many things are not hot. 

They do not send out light.

Light falls on them. 

They reflect (反射) light to us. 

So we see them.

Turn on a lamp at night and you see the whole room at once (马上).

You see, light does travel fast. 

It could go around the world seven times in one second!
